Siargao BI office:
SIARGAO, Surigao del Norte—The Bureau of Immigration (BI) opened its new office in the island of Siargao on March 12.
Situated at Purok 1 Poblacion in General Luna, the office aims to provide convenient immigration services for the growing number of tourists visiting the island.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco stated, “The establishment of this office in Siargao is part of our commitment to ensuring that foreign nationals have easy access to immigration services, especially in popular tourist destinations like Siargao.”
Siargao, known as the “Surfing Capital of the Philippines”, is frequented by tourists from around the world for its stunning beaches and world-class surfing spots.
The new BI office will facilitate visa extensions and other essential immigration services for foreign nationals visiting the island.
With the opening of the Siargao office, the BI aims to support the Department of Tourism’s efforts to promote tourism in the Philippines by providing efficient and accessible immigration services to tourists and expatriates in key tourist destinations. Foreign nationals visiting Siargao can conveniently process immigration transactions at the newly established BI office, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free travel experience.

ANNUAL REPORT
Online application for all registered aliens and ACR I-Card holders except Temporary Visitor’s Visa holders or Tourist Visa holders.
CRUISE VISA WAIVER
Online application for cruise visa waiver for visa-required nationals.
EMIGRATION CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE - B
Online application for departing holders of Immigrant and Non-Immigrant visas with valid ACR I-Cards and are leaving the country temporarily.

TOURIST VISA EXTENSION
Online application for tourists who wish to extend their stay beyond the initial period granted on their tourist visa.
VISA WAIVER
Online application for non-visa required tourists admitted initially for thirty (30) days and is requesting for an initial extension of twenty-nine (29) days.
WAIVER OF EXCLUSION GROUND
Online application for children below fifteen (15) years of age who are unaccompanied by or not coming to a parent, are classified as excludable.
SPECIAL STUDY PERMIT
Online application for foreign nationals below the age of 18 and/or taking non-degree courses in the Philippines (less than 1 year)
STUDENT VISA CONVERSION (9F)
Online application for all foreign nationals who are at least 18 years old and shall take up a course of study higher than high school at a University, seminary or college.
It’s important to note that people get confused with the online visa extension platform because they think they need to straight away apply for a TOURIST VISA EXTENSION after entering the country within the last thirty (30) days. However they first need to apply for the Visa Waiver to be granted a further 29 days.

ECC has two (2) types, ECC –A (also referred to as regular ECC and ECC-B.
The following foreign nationals must secure an ECC-A prior to their departure:
Holders of Temporary Visitor Visa (also referred to as tourist visa) who have stayed in the Philippines for six (6) months or more;
Holders of expired or downgraded Immigrant or Non-Immigrant Visas;
Holders of valid Immigrant or Non-Immigrant Visas but are leaving for good;
Philippine-born foreign nationals who will depart from the Philippines for the first time;
Holders of Temporary Visitor Visa with Orders to Leave;
Bona fide seafarers who have stayed in the Philippines for 30 days or more and has a duly approved discharge from BI.
ECC-B is issued to departing holders of Immigrant and Non-Immigrant visas with valid ACR I-Cards and are leaving the country temporarily.
When should I apply for an ECC?
A foreign national may apply for an ECC at least 72 hours prior to his/her departure from the Philippines.
Does the ECC have validity? Will I be able to use this multiple times?
The ECC is valid for one (1) month from the date of issue, however, you may only use this once regardless of its validity.
